====== Help for secretaries ====== The entire workflow is described ====== Help for secretaries ====== A database with computer accounts is accessed via the LDAP database manager (can be viewed from any computer inside the division). If you are a secretary or any of us (Rik, Bob, Sergei) you can always check the existing account. There are three categories of people who need the ASC computer access. Make your decision about which category to choose: ====== People who need only a computer account ====== (without visiting ANL) If you get an request (usually from Rik, Bob, me), please check citizenship of this person ===== A) If the person is a US citizen: ===== In this case we should request ANL domain account (which is rather special for the ASC users) and then the account will be created and activated by Sergei. The ANL domain account can be created by the US citizens themselves, but they should specify who is their sponsor. Their sponsors can be either Rik, Bob or Sergei. Please ask such person to go to this https://webapps.anl.gov/collaborator/ and request the account. When he/she fills this online form, she should mention Rik, Bob or Sergei as "sponsors". Examples, for the "sponsor" filed they say: Sponsor Email Address*: rik.yoshida@anl.gov (Rik Yoshida) OR reb@anl.gov (Robert Blair) OR chakanau@hep.anl.gov (Sergei Chekanov) Reason for Account*: Collaboration with ATLAS support center of the HEP division Once approved, an email will be send to the sponsor (Rik, Bob, Sergei) with the details of this account. This email will contain details about the account, such as the user name (usually has the form *ac.name*) and email address. Then this email should be forwarded to Sergei who will created the account. Once completed, a new entry will be shown in the [[the LDAP database manager]]. The user can always change his/he password using https://mypassword.anl.gov link. A more complicated actions (like disk space, etc) can be done by Sergei. Rik, Sergei and Bob keep track collaborators. They can find the names of such people in Cyber gate pass system. See the description of cyber gate pass system ===== B) If the person is non-US citizen: ===== You will need to fill in *593 form*. Once it's done and approved, we will go to the above step [[1-A)]] ====== Short-term ASC visitors ====== who may need ASC computer account Again, check his citizenship before any action: ===== A) If the person is a US citizen: ===== Request the gate pass. To create the ANL ASC account, follow the steps above. ===== B) If the person is non-US citizen: ===== You will need to request the *593 form* and the gate pass. Then follow the description ====== Long-term visitors ====== (usually always need the account) Again, check his citizenship before any action: ===== A) If the person is a US citizen. ===== Normally, they will receive the domain account automatically as this step is included in the employment process. Then they will talk or send email to Sergei asking to make the ASC account. ===== B) If the person is non-US citizen: ===== Again, the domain account will be given during the normal procedure. Then they will talk or send email to Sergei asking to make the ASC account. How to extend the ASC account
