NF09: Artificial Neutrino Sources

Co-Conveners: Laura Fields (FNAL), Alysia Marino (U. of Colorado Boulder), Pedro Ochoa (UCI), Josh Spitz (U. of Michigan)

Our group focuses on the development, characterization and understanding of manmade neutrino sources. The topics under our purview include, but are not limited to:

  • Conventional neutrino beams (both new and upgrades)
  • Novel neutrino sources (including beta beams, neutrino factor and IsoDAR)
  • Nuclear Reactors
  • Radioactive sources
  • Neutrinos from Spallation Neutron Sources (pi/mu/K decay-at-rest)
  • Neutrino beam instrumentation
  • Neutrino flux determination from artificial sources (including hadron production measurements)
